Babe Ruth League and Native Nations Partner to Expand Opportunities for Native Youth in Baseball and Softball

Hamilton, NJ – June 17, 2025 – Babe Ruth League, Inc., a premier youth baseball and softball organization, is thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership with Na7ive Na7ions, a national Native-led sports program. Together, they aim to bring the transformative power of baseball and softball to Native communities across the United States.

Guided by Babe Ruth League’s mission that “every child with a desire to play baseball or softball be afforded that opportunity,” this partnership will create pathways for Native youth to engage in regional, national, and international competition, including the esteemed Babe Ruth-Cal Ripken World Series.

A major milestone in this partnership will be the first-ever Na7ive Na7ions National Tournament, hosted July 19–20 at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks’and Colorado Rockies’spring training. This historic event will bring Native athletes and families together for high-level competition, cultural celebration, and community pride. The tournament will also help identify and prepare players for an appearance at the prestigious Babe Ruth World Series, marking a groundbreaking moment for Native representation on the national stage.

“Baseball and softball are more than games—they are tools for personal growth, community building, and leadership development,” said Michael Solanik, National Commissioner, Babe Ruth League, Inc. “Partnering with Native Nations enables us to honor and recognize the rich traditions of Native communities while expanding opportunities for young athletes to excel both on and off the field.”

DJ Carrasco, Founder of Na7ive Na7ions, expressed equal enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing the impact it will have on Native youth. “This collaboration with Babe Ruth League is a historic step for Native athletes. By uniting our efforts, we can celebrate cultural identity, create lasting opportunities, and help Native youth showcase their talents on the national and international stage.”

The partnership will focus on hosting camps, clinics, and tournaments in Native communities, providing athletes with access to mentorship, health and wellness programming, and leadership development.
